Fondren Works was established in July, 2026 upon the recommendation of Fondren’s community planning effort, Fondren Forward. An implementation committee set the vision for Fondren Works as: A vibrant, connected Fondren where thriving neighborhoods, productive commercial corridors, and accessible green spaces create lasting opportunity for all who live, work and invest here.

Every neighborhood has a story.
Some stories are written through generations of families building homes, raising children, and investing in their community.
Others are shaped by new investment, changing ownership, and the quiet resilience of residents who continue to believe in the place they call home.
West Fondren is a neighborhood of enduring strengths and emerging opportunities. Its mature trees, established home, neighborhood businesses, and proximity to one of Mississippi’s most significant investment corridors tells a story that is still beging written.
Before neighborhoods can be strengthened, they must first be understood.
This publication marks the first step in a long-term commitment to understanding West Fondren through objective information and careful observation.
